Crow Lake House

Frontenac, Ontario

This home is designed to settle naturally into its landscape, minimizing its visual impact on the sloped mixed native woodland along the shore of Crow Lake in Frontenac County, Ontario. The owners wanted a Scandinavian influence, favouring simple forms, dark exterior siding and warm natural accents. Clear‑coat pine at the soffits, front entrance and timber deck adds a subtle material contrast that feels at home in the surrounding forest.

A timber‑framed covered porch off the kitchen sits raised among the trees, offering views out to the lake while maintaining a quiet connection to the site. The overall design focuses on straightforward detailing, durable materials and a calm presence in the landscape — a home that feels rooted, intentional and shaped by the character of Crow Lake.
