This project involved the renovation of an 1880 merchant townhouse in Glasgow’s West End. Originally built to a high standard, many of its defining features had been concealed during alterations in the 1970s. The work focused on restoring the home’s original character while improving usability and access to natural light.

The hardwood floors were uncovered and carefully refurbished, and the floorplan was reorganized to create more efficient, comfortable living spaces. The original brick chimney was opened up, repointed and lined to support the installation of an efficient wood‑burning stove, reintroducing a functional focal point to the home.

The result is a thoughtful restoration that brings historic craftsmanship back into view while adapting the townhouse for contemporary living.
